Mission Statement

"Intelligent Thin Coating" is the eponym and at the same time the program for the direction of our company. Our primary goals are to protect assets, the environment, the climate and health. For this purpose, we develop new, thin-layer coating technologies that focus on the targeted functionalization of surfaces. The driving force for us is sustainability and responsibility for society and the environment.

DR. HANS-JOACHIM WEINTZ

Managing Director

After studying chemistry at the Univ. Kaiserslautern, diploma and PhD at MPI für Kohlenforschung in Mülheim/Ruhr, AvH-post-doctoral fellowship at Nagoya University, Japan. In his industrial career HJW was during 14 years at BASF AG, Ludwigshafen, and BASF Coatings in Münster, Sao Paulo and Cologn responsible for R&D centre of coating development of industrial coatings.  In 2000 he took the responsability at J.W. Ostendorf GmbH, Coesfeld, as director and authorized officer for technical company development until the end of 2019, building up R&D, an effective innovation management, aligning the company to sustainable, water based coating technologies.

In addition, Hans-Joachim Weintz is CEO of the Surface NRW network and co-founder of itCoating.

DIPL.-ING. JOACHIM MÜLLER

R & D and association work

After training as a lacquer laboratory assistant at a medium-sized wood lacquer factory, Joachim Müller completed a degree in chemistry at the Paderborn University with a focus on process engineering for lacquers and plastics. After completing his studies, he worked as the laboratory manager of a large construction chemicals manufacturer with a focus on 2-component systems based on epoxy, PU or PMMA, then as sales manager at a large medium-sized producer of raw materials for the paint and varnish industry. At the same time he took over the technical project management in the areas of 2 K water systems (acrylic / PU / PE), the development of thin-film sol / gel coatings with functional surfaces.

DIPL.-ING. Reiner GALLE

Research & Development

After training as a paint laboratory assistant in an industrial paint company, Reiner Galle worked for 10 years as a laboratory manager in a medium-sized paint factory. After studying chemistry at the comprehensive university in Essen, a laboratory manager position followed at a large construction chemicals manufacturer, which specializes in reactive plastics with a focus on static bonding, epoxy systems approved for drinking water and special developments for sewer pipe rehabilitation.

RALF OCHS

Application technology, production & regulations

After training as a paint laboratory technician, Ralf Ochs worked for a medium-sized company in the development department for reactive 2-component corrosion protection coatings. This was followed by several positions with a focus on application technology, development of coating systems and technical support in the areas of emulsion paints, building materials and industrial coating materials at a French specialty chemicals company. He then became the head of the research and development department in a medium-sized company that specializes in anti-corrosion coatings for general industry and for complete bodies for the rail vehicle industry.

IRIS WEINTZ

Public Relations

After studying German and political science in Tübingen and Heidelberg, he did a traineeship in public relations at BASF in Ludwigshafen. Then she went to BASF Brasileira in Sao Paulo as a press officer for four years. After working for a year in an advertising agency in Cologne, Iris Weintz is still the first chairwoman of KuKiS (Kunst- und Kulturiniative Senden).
